Richard Strauss: "Also sprach Zarathustra" (Unsigned Prints)
Limited-edition artwork made from the soundwaves of the San Francisco Symphony's performance of Richard Strauss's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra." Each print has been hand-signed and numbered by artist Tim Wakefield. These have NOT been signed by SF Symphony members.
The San Francisco Symphony is widely considered to be among the most artistically adventurous and innovative arts institutions in the United States, celebrated for its artistic excellence, creative performance concepts, active touring, award-winning recordings, and standard-setting education programs.
Richard Strauss was inspired by philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche's novel, which was in turn inspired by the prophet Zoroaster. Beginning with the iconic opening Sunrise, Strauss explores the human search for meaning through God, passion, science, music, and dance, before the inevitable return to dusk.
All profits from these prints will support several Bay Area non-profit organizations.
