About Us
Soundwaves Art Foundation is the creation of British-born, US-based artist Tim Wakefield. Ā
Following a decade of fundraising in the UK via charity art pieces created with help of some of Britainās biggest sports stars such as David Beckham and Lewis Hamilton, Tim turned his attention in 2005 to his first love: music. After a year of artistic experiments and samples, Soundwaves Art Foundation was born in London. Since then, Tim has worked with 500+ of the world's leading musicians who have added signatures and handwritten lyrics to his canvas prints and originals.Ā

In 2014 Tim moved to Austin, Texas where he opened our second production studio, expanded our collaborations with American musicians, and started to hire a team around himself. Seven years later, weāre a small but mighty team with a modern studio in East London and a recently-opened Soundwaves Art Gallery just down the road from Austin in beautiful and historic Lockhart, Texas. We're proud to manage our printing and framing programs in-house with a focus on providing job training and employment in our local communities. Ā
Tim creates unique artwork through a multimedia art process he has created to customize the recorded sound waves of iconic songs. All our art is sold to raise funds for charities and social justice causes supported by the music industry.Ā To date, music fans in 91 countries have helped us raise over $7.5M for dozens of charities. As global interest in art and music collectibles has grown, Soundwaves collectors have also created a thriving secondary market for our quick-to-sell-out artwork.

How it works

Tim and artist decide which song to design for and what charity to benefit

Tim creates samples and works with musician to finalize the wave colors and shapes

Each piece is printed on fine art canvas and brought to the musician to hand sign

Fans donate, we send them art, and the charity receives the profits
