Hector Berlioz: "Symphonie fantastique" (Unsigned Prints)
Limited-edition artwork made from the soundwaves of the San Francisco Symphony's performance of Hector Berlioz's "Symphonie fantastique." Each print has been hand-signed and numbered by artist Tim Wakefield. These have NOT been signed by SF Symphony members.
The San Francisco Symphony is widely considered to be among the most artistically adventurous and innovative arts institutions in the United States, celebrated for its artistic excellence, creative performance concepts, active touring, award-winning recordings, and standard-setting education programs.
A dark, magical dream world where swirling ballrooms give way to a terrifying witches’ sabbath, Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique recounts an artist’s unrequited love. The composer’s real-life obsession with an Irish actress inspired this radical symphonic love letter, and though it failed to win her affections, this vibrant work revolutionized the art of musical storytelling.
All profits from these prints will support several Bay Area non-profit organizations.
