Felix Mendelssohn: "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (Unsigned Prints)
Limited-edition artwork made from the soundwaves of the San Francisco Symphony's performance of Felix Mendelssohn's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Each print has been hand-signed and numbered by artist Tim Wakefield. These have NOT been signed by SF Symphony members.
The San Francisco Symphony is widely considered to be among the most artistically adventurous and innovative arts institutions in the United States, celebrated for its artistic excellence, creative performance concepts, active touring, award-winning recordings, and standard-setting education programs.
With his talent for light colors and nimble textures, Felix Mendelssohn was born to write music for William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In fact, he did so twice, writing a fantastical overture as a teenager—opening hazily into a fantasy realm of swarming fairies and a braying donkey—and then completing music for the entire play sixteen years later.
All profits from these prints will support several Bay Area non-profit organizations.
